    Senior Advisor, PricewaterhouseCoopers / Chairman, HSBC Bank Middle East

    He is Senior Adviser of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Limited, Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of the Noble Group and in May 2011 was appointed Non-Executive Chairman of HSBC Bank Middle East Limited. He sits on the Dubai international Financial Centre Higher Board. He remains a Consultant to the Korean Presidential Council on National Competitiveness, is a Director of Hong Kong listed company SOCAM Development Ltd. He is a director of, and advisor to a number of unlisted companies and Government entities.
    Mr. Eldon is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers(FCIB). He was conferred Honorary Doctor of Business Administration by the City University of Hong Kong in November 2003. He was named the DHL/SCMP Hong Kong Business Person of the Year for 2003 and in 2004 was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) by the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. In 2005 he was made a Commander of the British Empire(CBE) for his contribution to banking, and awarded Honorary Citizenship of Seoul in recognition of his work for the city. He was awarded the Asian Banker Lifetime Achievement Award for 2005, and conferred Honorary Doctor of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Mr. Eldon is a Justice of the Peace (JP).

    Dr. LIU received his Ph.D. in economics from East China Normal University and bachelor degree from Renmin University of China.   • Jae Woo LEE

    Chief Korea Economist, Bank of America Merrill Lynch

    Jae Woo Lee joined the Asia Pacific Economics Research Team at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in July 2011. Working closely with the regional team, Jae-Woo is responsible for covering Korea economics.
    Jae Woo brings years of experience in economic analysis from his previous involvement in policy analysis and research. He joined BofAML from the International Monetary Fund, where he worked in the Research and Asia-Pacific departments. Prior to the IMF, he taught at the University of California at Irvine, and was a research affiliate of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
    He received his Bachelor¡¯s and Master¡¯s degrees in Economics from the Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. He is based in Seoul.
  • Michael HELLBECK

    Executive Vice President, COO & Head of Regulatory Affairs, Standard Chartered First Bank in Korea

    Since August 2010, Michael Hellbeck holds the double-role as COO and Head of Regulatory Affairs for Standard Chartered Korea and Standard Chartered Bank Korea.
    Since 2009, Mr Hellbeck has also been concurrently serving as the Chairman of the Foreign Global Bankers Group (FBG), an industry association representing the interests of global banks in Korea. In 2009, Mr Hellbeck was awarded honorary citizenship of the City of Seoul.
    From 2005 till August 2010 Michael Hellbeck served as Branch Manager and Chief Operating Officer for Deutsche Bank Seoul Branch. Prior to this position, Mr. Hellbeck worked for Deutsche Bank as Chief Country Officer and Head of Global Banking in Taiwan (2003-2005) and the Philippines (2001-2003) respectively. From 1993 – 2001, Mr. Hellbeck was assigned to Deutsche Bank Seoul Branch as Head of Risk Management (1993-1997) and Head of Corporate Banking (1997-2001).
    Mr. Hellbeck has 29 years of banking experience in the areas of risk management, corporate & institutional banking, internal controls, compliance and general management. He has worked in Asia since 1990 without interruption.

    Professor, KDI School of Public Policy and Management

    He obtained the M,A, economic history in 1972 and received his Ph.D. in Economic history in 1978. and then he was the visiting lecturer in Erasmus University, Rotterdam. In 1983 he was the visiting professor, school of International studies, University of Washington, Seattle. He conducted the private sector consulting practice together with P&E Risk consultancy of Hong Kong and PacRim of Hong Kong, worked for international projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia and Nepal, carried out World bank Programmes on TSM and Police Safety from 1987 to 1989. During 1987 to 1989 he was the director of promotion and logistics Tetra Pak Korea. He gave an address in international school, Ewha university for 3 years and was the visiting professor in Ecoles des affaires at Paris MBA course from 1991 to 1992. Since 1989, Anthony Michell has been the managing director of Euro-Asian Business Consultancy Ltd. From 1999, he has worked as the visiting professor, managing the international policy and management.

  • Jun Il KIM

    Deputy Governor, Chief Economist and Director of Economic Research Institute, The Bank of Korea

    Jun Il Kim, Deputy Governor in the bank of Korea, graduated the Kyunggi high school and Seoul Nat¡¯l Univ. and then received his bachelor degree and Ph.D. in economics from Brown University in the United States. He did the economics lecturer in California State University, UC Santa Cruz and was the macroeconomic leader in Korea Development Institute(KDI). He was the consultant of the Deputy Prime Minister, Kyung-Sik Kang, just before the currency crisis in March, 1997 and then also did the consults for the Ministry of Finance and Economy. He played a huge role to conquest the currency crisis as a negotiation member, and worked on the IMF Deputy Division Chief. Recently he, first chief economist in The Bank of Korea, is promoted to a vice-president.
  • Yong Hwan KIM

    Yong-Hwan Kim studied economics at Sungkyunkwan University, Korea. He completed MBA course at Vanderbilt University, USA, in 1991 and received a Ph.D. in business administration from Kyunghee University, Korea in 2003.
    He passed the 23th Higher Public Administration Examination in 1980, became public information officer at Korea Financial Supervisory Commission in 2004, was appointed as standing member of Securities & Futures Commission in 2007, and became chief vice-governor of Financial Supervisory Service in 2008. He serves as president of the Export-Import Bank of Korea since February, 2011.
    He received a presidential citation in 1982 and Red Stripes in Order of Service Merit in 2005.

    Mr. Philip C. Erquiaga is the Director General of ADB¡¯s Private Sector Operations Department. Mr. Erquiaga leads a team of professionals tasked with catalyzing private investment for sustainable development activities across Asia and the Pacific. By 2020, 50% of ADB¡¯s annual operational volume will be in private sector development activities and direct private sector lending and investment. Mr. Erquiaga is an American with over 32 years of professional experience, most of which has been in Asia. Mr. Erquiaga joined ADB in 1985 after positions at the Overseas Development Council and the Chase Manhattan Bank. He has managed fixed
    income and interest rate derivative products for ADB¡¯s treasury operations, developed the treasury risk management function and enhanced and consolidated the co-financing operations of the Bank (including syndications and risk enhancement products) Most recently, Mr. Erquiaga was the Director General of ADB¡¯s Pacific Department.
    Mr. Erquiaga holds a Bachelor¡¯s Degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He obtained his Masters of Arts Degree in International Affairs from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

    Gi Sup NAM started his career when he joined the Export-¡©‐Import Bank of Korea in 1982.     Head of Project Finance for Asia Pacific, BNP Paribas

    During his 15 years in Asia, Bruce Weller has worked on a number of Project Finance advisory and arranging assignments throughout the region. Currently Bruce is Head of Project Finance in Asia Pacific. Bruce was leading the teams arranging the Mong Duong 2 project in Vietnam. Bruce also led the bank¡¯s teams in financing the Gangwon and Youngduk wind power projects in Korea.
    Prior to coming to Asia he worked in the project and acquisition financing departments of the bank in London and Paris. He is a graduate of Harvard University and has an MBA from London Business School.

    Since Yongah KIM joined McKinsey & Company¡¯s Seoul Office in 1996, she accumulated broad experience in relation to projects in a wide variety of areas such as corporate strategy, marketing, sales, management efficiency, organizational structuring, etc. in varied industries. In 2005 she became partner of McKinsey & Company as the first Korean woman, and has since served as partner of the company.

    Scott Voss is a managing director who joined HarbourVest in 1999. He transferred to the Firm's Hong Kong-based subsidiary in 2011 to complement the primary partnership team's venture, cleantech, and developing Asia capabilities.     Managing Director, DFJ Athena

    Henry Chung is a Managing Director and the head of DFJ Athena's Seoul office. He is the founder/CEO of eCommunity, a consultancy devoted to helping startup companies in various aspects of their businesses including strategic planning, market development, technology positioning, and financing. Prior to Arthur D. Little, he worked in the Core Team at SK Group that orchestrated SK's entry into mobile telecommunications business by successfully launching SK Telecom, the largest wireless carrier in Korea today. Before SK Group, he was a management consultant with the Monitor Group where he was a founding member of its Seoul office and worked on a variety of strategic consulting projects in both Korea and the United States.
    He earned a B.A. and an MBA from Seoul National University. He also completed SEIT (Strategy and Entrepreneurship in the IT industry) Executive Curriculum at Stanford.
